I worked in public practice for twenty years. Somewhere in the middle of that there were a few years with a backpack, which turned out to matter, because the Tax Practitioners Board wants eight years of work out of the last ten before it will register you. So I waited, and then I applied.
Two years ago I established Dunell Accounting & Taxation in Warrnambool. It is a deliberately lean practice. Every file gets the same CPA attention from start to finish, and I intend to grow, but not at the cost of the thing that makes this worth doing.
What I am trying to give people is practical, straightforward accounting and tax advice, without the layers of a large accounting firm. In a big practice your file passes through several sets of hands and you pay for all of them. Here it passes through one.
I am not going to tell you I am the best accountant in the south west. I have no idea whether I am, and neither does anyone who says it about themselves. What I can tell you is that I have been doing this for two decades, I hold a CPA public practice certificate and a tax agent registration, and when you ring, I answer.

Tax has its own vocabulary and most of it is unnecessary. If I use a word that does not help you, pull me up on it.
I will tell you when it is not me
Some work needs a licensed adviser, or a lawyer, or someone bigger. I will say so rather than take it on.
